After data collection of a field is complete, go the home screen of the Field Book app.
Select Export (Fig. 1a).
A prompt will appear providing the options for Local or BrAPI export.
Select Local (Fig. 1a).
Note: Selecting BrAPI will export data to BreedBase only.

Select “Save” (Fig. 1b) to apply Field Book’s default settings for formatting your export data.

After you select “Save”, options will appear (Fig. 2) for exporting the data to the Android device’s available apps.
Select your preferred app for local export.
Options to export the data to may include Google Drive, BOX, OneDrive, or an email service that is linked to the tablet.
Your data will be saved to two locations:
In the app you selected
On the Android device under “Files” > “Images” > “photos”.
Requirements for local export via available apps To export the data using available apps on the Android device (Google Drive, BOX, OneDrive, email service, or other), an internet connection or cell service must be available. The app must also be downloaded on the Android device. |
To view the data files saved to your Android device, exit Field Book and go to the device’s main screen.
Select “Files”> “Documents” > “field_export” (Fig. 3a, 3b).
You should see the individually exported .csv files (Fig. 3b).
To view any plot images saved to your Android device, start at your device’s main screen.
Select “Files”> “Images” > “photos” (Fig. 4).
Each photo will be labeled with the 5-digit unique plot ID number, the photo number for that plot, and a date and time stamp.
